Role:
•To design, build, and maintain levels for an in-house PSP title.
•The candidate will be required to have the desire and dedication to create game content, bringing new ideas to the table while taking direction from the Lead Designer.
•A strong understanding, backed by experience, of 3D spatial awareness, and level logic scripting will be needed.
•The role will require the ability to give input to, and constructively critique, the work of other designers and artists in the work group – this will scale depending on the candidates experience.
Responsibilities:
•Design & direct the implementation of game content in order to deliver a product that meets its creative and qualitative goals.
•Demonstrate an awareness of the needs, aspirations, expectations and abilities of the target audience & how to deliver designs which satisfy those requirements.
•Responsible for the design of their work and able to explain the reasoning behind it to others.
•Responsible for the quality and timely delivery of your work.
•Responsible for ensuring that their knowledge is at the level required for the job.
•Contribute to the generation of original and innovative ideas.
•Ensure that work is always clearly defined and seek out clarification when it is not, prior to commencing the work.
•Work with senior design staff in order to ensure that designs are workable, consistent, coherent, well balanced and deliver on the creative vision of the product.
•Take criticism constructively and iteratively improve work until a signed-off level of quality is reached.
•Follow best-practices laid down for the design team.
•Collaborate with artists, programmers and producers when work requires.
•Aware of the state of the whole project, and up-coming deadlines.
•Give feedback to team members from all disciplines to ensure the quality, suitability and usability of tools and game engine features.
•Create and maintain well written and organized documentation.
Requirements:
•Games player
•Experience in level design and/or puzzle design
•Strong communication skills that can be demonstrated across disciplines within the team
•Ability to work to a design brief under schedule constraints
Desirable:
•PSP or handheld experience
•Experience of working with physics systems
•MODing experience
