Lead Technical Game Programmer

The Lead Technical Game Programmer plays a key role in the development of a game. He is responsible for ensuring the feasibility and integration of the technical components of the game. He works with the creative team to make them aware of the possibilities and the limitations of the engine. He continuously works with the programming team in order to push the limits and create new possibilities of development.

Responsibilities

•Design and supervise the implementation of the game key features

•Work with the programming team lead to define the development scope

•Work with the Creative Director, the Art Director and the Game Designer on establishing the technical impact of the creative direction

•Serve as a bridge between the R&D department and the Game Programmers

•Establish guidelines for technical production so as to achieve the desired objectives in the most efficient manner

•Insure that the technical guidelines are respected on the production

Requirements

•Extensive knowledge of the programming tools and techniques of the game industry

•Extensive experience with optimization techniques to produce best looking results while working under tight constraints

•Significant experience with determining the impact of technical choices on the production

•Significant experience with game development

•Significant experience interacting with artistic as well as technical staff

•Great problem solver

•Great communicator and innovator

•Passionate about pushing the envelope

•Result oriented

•5 years of experience in C/C++ programming

•4 years of experience in the game industry

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
