This fun-filled games company located in the North-West of England has been around for fifteen years, although they still posses the energy and vibrancy of a brand new company. With 160+ staff working out of a custom-built development studio, they are now simultaneously developing several next-gen projects across various platforms.
We are looking for an additional programmer to work on our animation technology team. This will involve writing cross-platform code to be used in multiple titles and developing tools to improve workflow and productivity for our animators.
Required:
- Fluent in C++, including templates.
- Strong knowledge of 3D maths, including quaternions.
- Familiarity with skeletal animation techniques.
- Self-motivated, ability to work well with others.
- A passion for games.
Additional:
- Experience with C# or Windows Presentation Foundation would be a bonus.
- Familiarity with animation in 3D applications such as Maya and MotionBuilder.
- An understanding of methods for 3D rendering of skinned models (e.g. matrix palette skinning). Ability to learn new skills.
Candidates should ideally be able to provide a demo (with source code) that shows a skinned character moving around a simple 3D scene to prove they are confident with skeletal animation and 3D graphics.
Things we like to see...
- Enthusiasm; a real love for the work.
- Talent - this is far more important than qualifications for us!
- Commitment to both the product and the team.
- The ability to see a project through to the end.
- Ability to work under time pressure
- An honest CV, and a good demo/samples of work.
