This central UK games company develops and publishes games for Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft and PCs, as well as multiplayer and world games for internet play. They have been in existence for years and have had many No 1 hits across Europe. They have been voted Publisher of the Year by gaming magazines.
My client is looking for an exceptionally talented Lead VFX Artist to join their immensely talented team.
Day to day duties will include.
Management
Lead the day to day management of the art team.
Regular appraisal, review and objective setting for art team.
Ensure good communication & co-ordination between the art and other parts of the team (programming, level design, design, production)
Attend Lead Artists meetings & feed information back to the team as appropriate.
Recommend training requirements for own art team.
Assist with recruitment and selection of staff for own team.
Liase with external service providers as required.
Scheduling
Prepare task schedules for art team in conjunction with Artists, other Leads, Producers and Project Planning Manager.
Monitor and progress tasks schedules for art team in conjunction with Producer & Project Planning manager as appropriate.
Identify and review task risks and recommend mitigation and contingencies
Technical Design
Responsible for production of technical specifications (Technical Design) based on the game design document for the project.
Be involved in the design process, offering advice & information from a technical perspective.
Liase with QA and compatibility departments & aid in testing plan
Procedures and Standards
Ensure good art asset standards are set and achieved across the team
Maintain the art vision and style across the project
